Medik8 Post Treatment Kit 

Bimatoprost is a liquid solution used to enhance length, thickness and darkness of the lashes. This is a prescription only medication and should only be applied following consultation with your practitioner. The solution should be applied once per day using the applicators provided to encourage lashes to grow. Results can take up to 8 weeks to be seen and if treatment is stopped, lashes will no longer grow and thicken at the rate when using bimatoprost. This treatment can be picked up in clinic, or sent out to your home address.

Microneedling is a safe and effective treatment to rejuvenate the skin and maintain a healthy glowing appearance. The treatment stimulates fibroblast and collagen production and has minimal downtime. This treatment is less invasive than traditional aesthetic treatments and can help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, scarring and stretch marks. 

Microneedling - Collagen Induction Therapy

A chemical peel is a superficial skin treatment to improve the skins appearance, texture and health. The peel works by removing the outermost layer of the skin and enables the skin cells to regenerate and create new collagen, fibroblasts, elastin and hyaluronic acid. Depending on your skin type and concern will depend on the type of peel used.  
This treatment is not suitable for those who are pregnant/breastfeeding, have open wounds/active infections to the treatment area, are sensitive to aspirin/salicylic acid, are having cancer treatment, have recently had cryotherapy or have skin sensitivities.

Oral retinoids should be stopped 6 months prior to treatment (Roaccutane).
Any retinol skin products should not be used for 1 week prior to treatment.

Biotin Consultation

Kenalog is given as an intramuscular injection, it is given into a large muscle such as the gluteal muscle in the buttocks. The drug will then slowly release from the muscle into the bloodstream over a period of 3-8 weeks giving a sustained effect. Kenalog acts to suppress the immune system that is overactive in response to pollen allergens, therefore easing hay fever symptoms.

Hair restoration is a peptide complex with hyaluronic acid, nutrients and vitamins designed to treat hair problems such as hair fall and thinness via Mesotherapy. A mental health check up is carried out by a nurse who has had over 12 years of experience in mental health care. PHQ9 and GAD 7 questionnaires will be completed by you, which will indicate your general levels of low mood and anxiety. Further discussion will be had with yourself to ensure your holistic health is covered in detail.  

Mental Health Check Up

Three blood pressure readings will be taken over a 15 minute period. Blood pressure is often a very early indicator of other health concerns and is something that can be managed through a number of lifestyle choices, amongst other methods of treatment.

Blood sugar readings can be taken to assess how your body reacts to certain foods such as carbohydrates, fats and proteins. A high blood sugar reading can be an indicator of diabetes, however this can also be due to a glucose spike from certain foods or ways of eating. Managing blood sugar spikes can reduce the risk of diabetes in future.

A full blood cholesterol count will be taken during this consultation. This will be a snap shot of your overall cholesterol levels. Cholesterol is a type of blood fat which is produced in and by the liver. We all need cholesterol in our bodies to ensure we produce the right hormones and vitamins to keep us alive. However, a high reading above 5 may require further investigation by your GP.
