Sports Massage aims to recondition the muscles and to treat a particular muscular complaint, be it a sports injury, repetitive strain injury, tendonitis, rehabilitation after surgery or illness. We will discuss findings from physiotherapist, osteopath and/ or doctors’ appointments and work on a plan to ease off areas of extreme tension whilst considering what stretches and exercises might be needed to build up strength. 
Sports massage tends to be a deeper massage, but this is always discussed and agreed with the client depending upon how the body responds.

For mums-to-be and new mothers, a relaxing massage to reach those aching areas. 
Using several pillows, unscented natural oils* and a deep, flowing massage technique, this treatment is healing for mama and babe alike. If baby is already with us, bring them along: I’m used to working with babies in the treatment room.
Treatments available for mothers from first trimester through to fourth 💛
Note: massage conducted with client in side-lying position, never lying on top of abdomen or on back without appropriate props.

* scented oils can be used if you are happy to: pregnancy can make you hyper-sensitive to smell!

Pre and postnatal zen

Scar tissue can restrict movement and it can continue to be painful long after injury. Scar tissue massage allows the tissues to loosen, muscles to slide over one another again, and movement to become easier. You can work on a scar from 6 weeks after surgery, and it’s never too late to work on scar tissue. Results can be seen and felt on scars 20 years old or more.
Often an area that has suffered trauma will be delicate to the touch. A lot of scar tissue work is gentle, slow, and careful. We work at your pace. Communication between the therapist and the client is key, as it enables us to monitor how you are reacting to the treatment and to adjust accordingly. Scars are often psychological as well as physical. It is important to acknowledge this in the work, and to maintain a safe working space for the client.

Specialist massage

To suit all body types. Futon mattress with pillows or massage couch* available. Your comfort is of utmost importance. The treatment can be given through light and loose fitting clothing if preferred. It’s important that you feel entirely at ease during the massage. Massage can help to reconnect you with your body: celebrate it, nurture it. ‘When the client enters, judgement leaves’

60 min Every Body Massage

A therapeutic massage where your muscles have a workout whilst you relax. Deep tissue work gets to the areas of tension and a holistic approach to the treatment ensures you still manage to float away into deep relaxation.

Melt away with a relaxing spa-style massage. Relax on a super comfy massage couch, complete with soft flannel sheets, heated under blanket and (if it’s really wintry!) a glowing wood burning stove. Choose from a selection of vegan approved massage oils, scented or unscented. Select your own music, if you wish, and drift away as you allow yourself some much-needed time out. 

60 min Swedish (relaxation) 

We tend to hold a lot of tension in our back, neck and shoulders. Ease the tension and encourage more movement  in your upper body with this therapeutic massage treatment. Clients tend to leave with shoulders lowered, heads held high!
