Hopi ear candling, also known as thermal-auricular therapy, is an alternative treatment that involves placing a hollow candle, usually made from cotton or linen soaked in beeswax, honey, or essential oils, into the ear canal. The candle is lit at one end while the other end is placed gently into the ear. The warmth and the supposed vacuum created by the burning candle are believed by practitioners to draw out impurities, such as earwax, debris, and toxins, from the ear canal. This treatment is named after the Hopi tribe, although there is no evidence that the Hopi people historically used this practice. The process typically involves the client lying on their side while the candle is inserted into the ear. An ancient therapy to balance the body naturally through the stimulation of reflex points located on the feet combined with foot massage techniques to create a deep state of relaxation and promote general wellbeing.
A reflexology session lasts 60 minutes in total which includes consultation and approximately 50 minutes nands-on.
