I had the most amazing experience with Candyce at Jamal Amal Hair Salon! In which from the moment I walked in, she made me feel so welcomed and at ease. She truly understands hair and took the time to listen to what I wanted, offering expert advice along the way. The end result was beyond my expectations. In all honesty my hair has never looked or felt better! Whiles on the other hand her attention to detail, skill, and warm coupled with her personality made the entire appointment such a joy. I saw Trish who always does my color. She's great for all hair types, but mine is long, thick, and wavy/curly. She understands how to cut it so I can wear it down and she does a great job with the color too! The salon is a neighborhood gem!

Giulia knocked it out of the park! She took my dry, damaged, long hair and make it look healthy, chic, and modern. She did an excellent job communicating with me as to what she was going to do, how much she was going to cut, etc. which I definitely appreciated since I wanted to remain as much length as possible. Alon was great! I have a hair loss problem where I pull the hair out on the back of my head and I normally get very uncomfortable at the salon / nervous they’ll ask about and he didn’t ask about it which made my day. Will definitely return.

Robert is simply amazing!! Fabulous cut. First time in 25 years I didn’t even have to tell him what to or not to do, like cut my hair with a razor, he is definitely an expert in his field! I had Giuseppe as my stylist, whom I highly recommend. He took the time to understand my needs and offered helpful suggestions that suited me. I can tell that he really cares about his craft by how meticulous and detail oriented he was when during my haircut. He was very professional, and I highly recommend him and this salon.

I have been going to NYC salons for over 25 years and this is the best salon I have gone to. John is a fabulous stylist and colorist. His team of Sona, Grace, Ella and John are wonderful and provide great client service. And Marina is one of the best manicurists I have ever had. If I didn’t love Kenjiro and Myriam and Grace and the rest of the staff at Toka Salon, I wouldn’t visit for hair cuts, Japanese hair straightening and hair color on a very regular basis for 25 plus years. Extraordinary service, beautiful dry cuts that take an hour and a half because almost each strand is cut separately and Japanese straightening done by total professionals with years of experience. Fabio is, quite simply, a hairstyle artist. I moved away from the area and was gone for five years. When I moved back, I returned to Fabio's Hair and Color Studio! He remembered me, and it felt like a homecoming. Fabio gives you his full attention and is an expert in all he does. He even started his own hair product line and they smell amazing! The staff is very welcoming and friendly, too, and the salon is bright and beautifully decorated. Very glad to be back! :)
