I had the most amazing experience with Candyce at Jamal Amal Hair Salon! In which from the moment I walked in, she made me feel so welcomed and at ease. She truly understands hair and took the time to listen to what I wanted, offering expert advice along the way. The end result was beyond my expectations. In all honesty my hair has never looked or felt better! Whiles on the other hand her attention to detail, skill, and warm coupled with her personality made the entire appointment such a joy. Genuinely the best haircut I’ve gotten in NYC. I’ve gone to quite a few different salons dedicated to curly hair, including traveling all the way to Jersey to get a proper cut. And in all instances I’ve left underwhelmed, with a cut that was not what I had asked for. This experience was the exact opposite! She took the time to take into account the different curl patterns I have, my daily styling routine, what I wanted and what was achievable. I left the appointment looking and feeling amazing! For anyone out there with 3c hair who has struggled to find a proper cut, definitely visit Chi!

They did a great job with my hair color. The salon is decorated nicely and the staff was welcoming. It was confusing which side to go in, as one side is presented as a separate barber shop business, but that door was open and I was told to wait there. They told me the service my Groupon was for wouldn't be right for my hair, and I should do a different service, but wouldn't get the discount and would have to pay an additional fee. I went with that option as it made the most sense to me. The staff hardly spoke to me at all during the service and may not speak much English, but they were friendl

Giulia knocked it out of the park! She took my dry, damaged, long hair and make it look healthy, chic, and modern. She did an excellent job communicating with me as to what she was going to do, how much she was going to cut, etc. which I definitely appreciated since I wanted to remain as much length as possible. I found my new salon!

Amazing first time experience here! I was lucky enough to have Inesa who is both talented and engaging with all her customers. She did amazing job picking out the best color that would blend with my natural hair color and it turned out better than expected! I recently visited Jamal Amal Salon to get my hair braided, and I had such a great experience! The staff was incredibly friendly, helpful and polite, making me feel welcomed from the moment I walked in. I had Giuseppe as my stylist, whom I highly recommend. He took the time to understand my needs and offered helpful suggestions that suited me. I can tell that he really cares about his craft by how meticulous and detail oriented he was when during my haircut. He was very professional, and I highly recommend him and this salon.
