Derek is absolutely amazing ! Prior to going to him, ive genuinely never left a salon and been in love with my cut or how they styled it... I'm absolutely obsessed with my hair walking out after seeing Derek. I refuse to ever let anyone else touch my hair. Derek - thank you - you are amazing! MATERIAL is hands down home to the BEST.

I really love my hair but for just darkening my roots, toning shampoo treatment and a cut it was $470 plus a 20% tip which is just something that I can’t do on the regular. I will be back for color, but I don’t think I can swing that just for toning each time.

I had such a wonderful experience at Material today. This was my first appointment with Derek. I have very thick hair that at times can be challenging. Derek created a cut that was perfect for my features and hair type. The salon is beautiful and Derek was friendly and welcoming. I'm so glad I found this salon and Derek.

Jessi is fantastic! Felt comfortable and relaxed from the minute I sat in the chair. Jessi corrected my color (from a previous stylist) and even my cut (despite the fact that I hadn’t booked for a cut). Love the salon - can’t wait to come back

This is my first time visiting MATERIAL salon and I definitely planning to return. I was a little nervous, but Derek made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I was very happy with my hair cut. It made me look fresh and younger. It was very important to me to have low maintenance hair and Derek did exactly that with my cut. Now I can look everyday like I stepped outside of salon without putting too much effort into it. Love it! Love it! Love it!

Another awesome blow out from Derek and leaving the salon feeling and looking great! And seeing Clint doing some beautiful balayage an a brunette client. Derek and Clint are extremely talented, both are top in their respective crafts, making them the perfect hair duo. They are also very down to earth and really nice. Material offers a personalized, calming, peaceful, beautiful looking and urban(ish) environment which is always appreciated. It’s clean lines, exposed brick, classy - white still being homey- waiting room and NYC feel are things to look forward to!

I feel like I won the hair lottery with Derek!! He is absolutely amazing and always makes my hair look like a million bucks. After moving to Tampa a few years ago, I was struggling to find a hair dresser that I loved. I bounced around from salon to salon for years! Then I met Derek and had the most amazing haircut/style ever. I'm so grateful for his talent. I can't say enough good things about him.
