Ahimsa Massage Therapy is a project by Manuela Kondo, a Brazilian-American from Japanese ancestors based in Lisbon. Licensed by Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NYC), in 2017, during the last seven years, Manuela has been offering customized massage treatments for each individual. From western techniques such as pin+stretch, deep tissue, myofascial release, trigger point therapy to eastern ones, such as acupressure, tuina, fire cupping, Manuela tries to incorporate all the techniques necessary in order to provide the maximum relaxation possible as well as to reach an optimal health.

"TCM follow-up" comprises of a one-hour long session where part we'll chat about how you react to your previous treatment and another part i'll provide a treatment plan addressing your major problems on the day of the session. This treatment may include but will not be limited to acupuncture, herbal supplements, cupping, tuina, dietary suggestions and lifestyle adjustments, depending on your health situation on the day of the session. ***NOTE:This service is part of my TCM studies, hence the initial consultation at an accessible rate of €20 and the follow-up on a sliding scale beginning at €10.

During our initial TCM appointment, you will be introduced to the five pillars of diagnosis, which are palpation (touching), olfaction (smelling), auscultation (hearing), and inspection (observation). As part of my initial evaluation, I'll enquire about your lifestyle, current health concerns, and medical history. Questions about your nutrition, sleep habits, stress levels, and exercise routines may be included, as well as observations of your complexion, tongue appearance/color/shape, pulse diagnosis, and a few other factors that are especially significant for a TCM diagnosis. The “Deep Tissue 80” consists in 80 minutes of deep stroking and friction therapy to aid in healing muscle problems. 

Suitable for chronic muscle spasms, neck stiffness, tight shoulders, and stiff backs.

A treatment that penetrates into deeper muscle layers to alleviate contractures.

Recommend use of fire cupping if needed.
