I always leave DIY as a ‘blue’ job in our household…but after being inspired by Claire at The Girly Garage, I decided to sign up for a class so I can start to understand some simple tools and how to use them.  Claire’s workshop was fantastic. Great fun creating a Christmas centrepiece and using hand tools and a drill. I feel much more confident and really enjoyed making something myself. Great value and I would highly recommend - especially with 2 or 3 friends.

The Girly Garage provided a relaxed and fun environment for us to create our own Christmas decoration. As a complete beginner, Claire gave me the confidence to use tools and techniques I hadn't used before. What a fantastic experience!! Claire was incredible - she was patient and explained every step so well. This service also includes extensive weed pulling and I'll be able to prune any roses or tackle any brambles you may have. If you require large plant work, and soil work like levelling, moving pavers or creating borders etc. you may need my Heavy-Duty Gardening service. Is it time to spruce up your Christmas decorations?! 

Do you fancy getting to grips with the basics of woodwork in a female-friendly, relaxed and supportive environment? 

Want a new tree-mendous Christmas centrepiece?

Well, this is the workshop for you. 

The workshop will consist of a maximum of 4 people which will take place at The Girly Garage learning space in Emsworth. The class will last two and a half hours and you'll have access to hot drinks. You'll learn the basics of cutting, drilling, shaping, smoothing and finishing timbers using hand saws, electric/ cordless drill, rasp files, hand files, sand paper. You'll have the choice of which style of candle/s you'd like to make (up to 3 candles) and  a selection of rustic (Hygge) natural decorations will be made available to personalise your candles.

This workshop has been given a difficulty rating of 1 out of 5 so is suitable for absolute beginners.
