Gua Sha is the Chinese Art of scraping the skin with a piece of Jade stone or other Chinese tools. The objective is to release heat and stagnation in the muscles and achieve upto 400% more blood flow and oxygenation to the muscles. 

Cupping is a traditional Chinese Medicine treatment. The objective is to release heat, damp and stagnation in the muscles and achieve upto 200% 

NB - you do get marks with these treatment  however they normally fade within 3 - 5 days
