Deep tissue massage works to relax the body and release tension.  Combining slow, deep strokes and pressure to work out the knots from stressed, overworked muscles and connective tissue (fascia) to alleviate immediate pain, as well as chronic joint and muscle pain. It also promotes faster healing by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation. During the massage, the muscles and tissues experience an emotional release just as they experience a release of physical tension.
