Keratin smoothing, also known as a keratin treatment or Brazilian blowout, is a hair treatment that reduces frizz, enhances shine, and smooths hair without permanently altering its natural texture. It involves applying a keratin-based formula, often combined with other conditioning agents, to the hair, which is then sealed using heat from a flat iron. This process fills in gaps in the hair cuticle, making it smoother and more manageable. Unlike chemical straightening, keratin treatments gradually fade over time, typically lasting 3 to 6 months, and allow for more flexibility in styling.

Nanoplasty is an advanced hair-smoothing treatment that uses nanotechnology and organic acids to straighten and nourish the hair without harsh chemicals. Unlike traditional keratin treatments, nanoplasty does not contain formaldehyde or strong relaxers, making it a gentler and more natural option. The treatment penetrates deep into the hair fiber, restructuring bonds to create a smooth, shiny, and frizz-free finish. It is activated with heat from a flat iron and can last up to 6 months, gradually fading without harsh regrowth lines. Nanoplasty is suitable for most hair types and is often preferred for its minimal fumes and lower risk of damage.

A perm, or permanent wave, is a chemical hair treatment that alters the hair’s natural texture to create curls or waves. The process involves applying a perm solution, usually containing ammonium thioglycolate or other reducing agents, to break the hair’s internal bonds. The hair is then wrapped around rods or rollers to shape the desired curl pattern. A neutralizer is applied to reform the bonds, locking the curls in place. Perms can last several months, depending on hair type and maintenance, and can range from tight ringlets to soft waves.
