Boost your revenue and attract new clients by offering flexible gift card options. Learn how to sell gift cards both in-store and online, making it easy for clients to share your services with others.
This guide is for businesses on Fresha looking to create and manage their own gift cards. If you're a client interested in purchasing a Fresha gift card that can be used across multiple venues on the Fresha marketplace, click here.
Getting started
To offer gift cards both online and in person, you’ll need to:
- Set up Gift cards.
- Set up and publish your Marketplace profile.
- Enable Fresha payment processing so you can receive online gift card payments.
Selling gift cards in-store
Sell gift cards at checkout
After completing an appointment, you can easily add a gift card to the sale at checkout.
To sell a gift card at checkout:
- Open the Calendar.
- Select the appointment you’d like to raise an invoice for.
- Click Checkout to be redirected to New sale.
- Select Add to cart.
- Use the category menu to add a Gift Card to the cart.
- On the Edit gift card page, you have the options to edit and select:
- Gift card value:
Enter the monetary value of the gift card. - Retail price:
Set the retail price at which the gift card is sold. This can differ from the gift card value. - Discount:
Add an optional discount applied to the gift card. - Expiration:
Set the expiration date or mark as No Expiration. - Add this gift card to the purchasing client’s wallet:
Select this option to link the gift card to the client associated with the sale. Linking the gift card to the client means they will see it at checkout when they make their next booking. Leave this unchecked if the client is buying this as a gift for someone else. - Use custom gift card code:
Select this option to generate a unique gift card code that can be shared or applied when booking online. - Team member:
Edit the team member assigned to the gift card sale.
- Gift card value:
- Select Save then Continue to payment.
- If enabled, select a tip preference, then click Continue to payment and choose a payment method.
- Click Pay now to complete the sale.
After completing the sale, the client will receive an email with their gift card details, giving them the option to view their gift card, or share it with someone else.
Sell gift cards on their own:
Clients can choose to buy gift cards without booking a service.
To sell gift cards individually:
- Open Sales.
- Click Add to start a new sale.
- Select a client profile for the sale.
- Use the category menu to add a Gift Card to the cart.
- On the Edit gift card page, you have the options to edit and select:
- Gift card value:
Enter the monetary value of the gift card. - Retail price:
Set the retail price at which the gift card is sold. This can differ from the gift card value. - Discount:

Selling gift cards online
Letting clients buy gift cards online is a great way to boost upfront revenue while giving clients the freedom to buy and book whenever it suits them. Make sure your Marketplace profile is live and you have Fresha payment processing enabled to receive online gift card payments.
To sell gift cards online:
- Open Workspace settings, select Sales then Gift cards.
- Under Availability and values, select Edit.
- Choose In-Store and online under Available for sale.
- Click Save.
FAQs
- Open Online booking and select Link builder.
- Choose Link to gift cards.
- Click Preview link to make sure it directs clients correctly.
- Copy and paste the link onto your website, or share it directly with clients and on your social media posts.
To sell gift cards online, payment processing must be enabled and verified. Fresha payment processing is available in select countries, and we are working to introduce this feature in more regions.
To generate a link to your gift cards on your website:
Fresha offers two types of gift cards:
Business-Specific gift Cards - These are customized gift cards set up and managed by your business. They can only be redeemed at your venue and applied to the services, products, and membership you provide.
Fresha gift Cards - These are universal gift cards that clients can purchase online through the Fresha marketplace. They can be redeemed at any Fresha-verified business listed on the marketplace.
