I'm Jess, Nurse of 9yrs, qualified personal trainer, Level 5 soft tissue & remedial massage therapist and cosmetic aesthetics practitioner. I'm a mum to three young children and two large dogs. I have always had an interest in how the body functions & works and have come to a point in my life where I want to be around to support my kids but also be able to work too. Anti-wrinkle injections are a popular cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face.

Anti wrinkle injections work by temporarily relaxing the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles and lines. By blocking the nerve signals that trigger muscle contractions, the injections prevent the muscles from contracting as strongly, leading to smoother, less wrinkled skin.

Common treatment areas: Anti-wrinkle injections are commonly used to target wrinkles and lines in specific areas of the face, including the forehead, frown lines between the eyebrows and crow's feet around the eyes. 

Results are typically achieved 2 weeks post treatment and last for up to 8 weeks before signs of movement begin to start again. Top up treatments can be given after 2 weeks and a full treatment can be given again after 12 weeks.

Anti wrinkle

Skin boosters, also known as injectable moisturizers or skin hydration treatments, are a type of cosmetic procedure designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and overall quality. Unlike traditional dermal fillers, which primarily add volume to specific areas of the face, skin boosters work by hydrating the skin from within.

The main components of skin boosters are hyaluronic acid (HA) and other hydrating substances. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in the body that helps maintain moisture levels in the skin. When injected into the skin, HA attracts and retains water molecules, effectively hydrating the skin and improving its texture and appearance.

Skin boosters are typically administered through a series of microinjections into the deeper layers of the skin, commonly in areas such as the face, neck, and hands. The injections are spaced out over multiple sessions, usually a few weeks apart, to gradually build up hydration and stimulate collagen production.

Profhilo is a revolutionary 'beneath the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. A unique hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into skin, Profhilo stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.

With one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

Recommended treatment of 2 treatments one month apart at 6 monthly intervals.

Profhilo skin boosters

Vitamin B12, also known as cobalamin, is a water-soluble vitamin that plays a crucial role in various bodily functions. It is essential for the formation of red blood cells, neurological function, DNA synthesis, and the metabolism of fats, proteins, and carbohydrates.

It can promote healthy skin and nails and reduce signs of ageing, aid in cell reproduction and renewal, reduce fatigue and improve cognitive function. 

This treatment is for cosmetic purposes only and is not suitable for those with chronically low vitamin b12 or those managed by their GP for low b12 levels. 

The product I use is methylcobalamin rather than hydroxocobalamin.

Vitamin B12

Dermaplaning is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently shave the surface of the skin, primarily the face, to remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, often referred to as "peach fuzz." The procedure aims to exfoliate the skin, revealing a smoother and brighter complexion. It's popular for its ability to improve the absorption of skincare products and create a smoother canvas for makeup application.

Chemical peels are a cosmetic procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells, stimulate the growth of new skin cells, and improve skin texture and appearance. The solution used in a chemical peel can vary in strength, ranging from mild to deep, depending on the specific skin concerns being addressed. Chemical peels can aid with fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin tone, sun damage, acne & acne scars, hyperpigmentation & rough and dull skin tone.

Dermaplaning and/or chemical peel

Mesotherapy is a non invasive cosmetic treatment that involves injecting a mixture of vitamins, minerals and other natural substances into the mesoderm layer of the skin to promote overall appearance and rejuvenation of the skin. It can be used to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, pigmentation concerns and cellulite. 

Rejuveyes is an under eye treatment which brightens the under eye area and improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles. 

Mesoglow hydrates the skin and gives a glow. It works in a similar way to a facial or chemical peel but from beneath the skins surface. 

Recommendation of 2 initial treatments 4 weeks apart and then further treatments 3 monthly for best results with mesoglow and rejuveyes.

DQ Hair + can be used to encourage new hair growth in men with hair loss or 'patchy' beards. It can also be used for women with post partum hair loss or thinning hair. DQ Hair + 5-12 sessions required in total depending on area being treated.
