Collect split payments
Collect split payments
Provide clients with payment flexibility by accepting multiple payment methods. Learn how to process split payments when clients want to divide their total bill among different credit cards, cash, or other payment options.
Getting started
You can process split payments with Fresha Pay combined with cash or a gift card, using Fresha pay or a card terminal alone.
Before you can process split online payments, you will need to:
- Set up payment processing in your Fresha workspace.
Splitting payments
Splitting payments using Fresha pay or cash
To split payments using Fresha pay or cash:
- Open the Calendar and select the appointment.
- Click Checkout.
- Add any products, memberships, and gift cards to the cart.
- Click Continue to payment.
- Add a tip if the client would like to include one, and click Continue to payment.
- Select the payment method Split payment.
- Choose one of the online payment methods (charge card on file, self checkout, QR code or manual card entry).
- Type the amount the client would like to pay using one of the above payment methods.
- Click Add a payment and choose additional payment method(s) to pay the remaining balance (which can be cash).
- Click Pay now to complete the transaction.
Splitting payments using Fresha pay only
To split payments using Fresha pay only:
- Open the Calendar and select the appointment.
- Click Checkout.
- Add any products, memberships, and gift cards to the cart.
- Click Continue to payment.
- Add a tip if the client would like to include one, and click Continue to payment.
- Select the payment method Split payment.
- Choose one of the online payment methods (charge card on file, self checkout, QR code or manual card entry).
- To process the remaining balance, within the current page, click Pay now.
- Select Split payment and then select the next online payment method.
- The remaining balance will automatically be displayed to you so you can click Pay now to complete the transaction.
After processing the remaining balance, the sale is saved as Completed.
Splitting payments using a card terminal
To split payments using your card terminal:
- Open the Calendar and select the appointment.
- Click Checkout.
- Add any products, memberships, and gift cards to the cart.
- Click Continue to payment.
- Add a tip if the client would like to include one, and click Continue to payment.
- Select the payment method Split payment.
- Choose Card terminal, type the amount the client would like to pay using their first card and click Save part-paid. Tips will be added as part of the final checkout.
- After processing payment, this sale will be saved part-paid.
- To process the remaining balance, within the current page, click Pay now.
- Select Split payment and then click again on Card terminal.
- The remaining balance will automatically be displayed to you so you will click Pay now to complete the transaction.
After processing the remaining balance, the sale is saved as Completed.
When using split payments, using one of the payment methods (card on file, card terminal, self checkout, QR code or manual card entry), tips will be added as part of the final checkout.
